Life Teen = High School Youth Group

Sunday nights 6:45-8:30pm in the Brown House

All students in grades 9-12

Life Teen holds weekly meetings called Life Nights

- Life Nights are open to ANYONE in high school!  They are creative nights that allow teens to grow in relationship with Christ and each other by bringing our Catholic faith to life

- Life Nights are filled with prayer, teaching, small groups, games,  activities, laughter, and food.

- Each Life Night we focus on teaching teens more about their Catholic faith while forming an accepting loving community.  Through youth focused liturgies, Life Nights, service opportunities, & social activities, teens grow to love the Sacraments, the Scriptures, & to know Christ personally.

Life Teen also hosts trips, service projects, retreats, and more!

- Christ calls us to live out our faith in our daily lives. Life Teen

strives to help youth be Christ to ALL

- Past events and trips for Life Teen include XLT nights in the church,  Baltimore WorkCamp, Steubenville Conferences,

and Catholic Heart WorkCamp among others

-  Life Teen regularly holds service projects for our parish and community

Ever wondered about taking your faith to the next level? Are you looking for a strong community that challenges you to be who God made you to be?

We invite all confirmed high school youth to pray about becoming a peer minister! Our peer ministers are servant leaders, bringing each other and others closer to Christ.

We are hosting an interest bonfire for those who are considering potentially becoming a peer. Not sure just yet? Check it out! We'll have social time to get to know each other, ask any questions you may have, and hear witnesses from our current peer ministers!

Please note:
- We ask that all those interested RSVP using the link below so that we know how much food to bring

We are thrilled to have another year of our Summer Supper Series!

For these social nights, youth meet up at the Brown House following the 5:30pm Praise Mass. We then head to a different local restaurant each week to eat and hang out. This event is open to all high school students!

Please note:

- Don't forget your $ for dinner

- Permission slips are REQUIRED for these events. Youth only need to turn one permission slip to be able to attend all three nights

- The restaurants will be announced prior to the evening

We are heading back to Baltimore WorkCamp this year!

We are so excited to be a part of Baltimore WorkCamp 2022!

BWC is a week-long camp for teens that is spent serving residents in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.  WorkCamp is not your ordinary youth event.  It is a unique opportunity for parishes across the Archdiocese of Baltimore to make a difference in the lives of those in need in our own Archdiocese. WorkCamp encourages teens (rising 9th graders through graduated 12th graders) and all participating adults to answer their baptismal call to serve others and to grow in their Catholic faith.

The total cost for camp is $325. An initial $50 deposit is due by the end of April to reserve a spot. Please note that no one is turned away due to cost. For more information, please contact Noelle Acaso at nacaso@theimmaculate.org.

Opportunities to Serve

Peer Ministry

Peer Ministry/Servant Leadership is not an alternative to weekly youth group. It is an opportunity for teens who have received the Sacraments of Initiation to go above and beyond what is learned and done on Sunday nights and put into practice our call to put into practice what we preach.

Our Peer Ministry Program follows the servant leadership model, using Christ as our example of leadership and behavior. Peer ministers learn leadership skills and habits that are put into practice by helping plan and lead events for one or more of the following ministries: Confirmation Ministry and/or EDGE (Middle School) Ministry.

We are now accepting applications for our Servant Leadership Team for 2022-2023! If you are interested in becoming a peer minister for our 2022-2023 year, please fill out the application below and return it to the parish office or contact Noelle Acaso at nacaso@theimmaculate.org with any questions.

Youth Praise Band

Do you love music? Are you a singer or musician? We want you! Our Youth Praise Band is auditioning new musicians at this time.

Rehearsals on Monday nights 5:00-6:15pm and Sundays 4:30-5:10pm, right before the Praise Mass. Reach out to Noelle Acaso at nacaso@theimmaculate.org to schedule an audition.

Encounter Ministry

The purpose of Encounter Ministry is to ensure each person who comes through our doors has an authentic encounter with Christ in the face of our parishioners as well as at the Eucharistic table.

Encounter Ministry combines and expands the tasks commonly associated with the greeters and ushers. Ministers are needed for the 5:00pm Mass on Saturdays and the 5:30pm Mass on Sundays.  This ministry is more than holding doors, handing out song sheets and taking up the collection. The goal of this ministry is to embody Christ in our actions and to create an atmosphere of joyful welcome. Reach out to Patty McCarty at pmccarty@theimmaculate.org for more information.
